A MATCH MADE IN HEAVEN

Sure, we love windswept beaches and adorable lighthouses just as much as the next guy, but have you ever smelled a turkey crisping in the oven or heard chicken curry simmering on the stove? It’s pure magic.

Here in Prince Edward Island, we’re so fortunate to have ingredients that are grown in iron-rich soil, fished from generous, clean oceans, and raised using sustainable & humane farming practices. Pair that with the fact that we’re home to some of the world’s most talented chefs and you’ve got yourself a haven for food lovers.

COMING TOGETHER IN TIMES OF NEED

PEI typically enjoys a robust and bustling restaurant scene, but there’s no doubt that the pandemic has made times tough for everyone, especially those in food service, farming & production industries. From lockdowns to capacity limits to delivery delays, they’ve had to adapt and roll with whatever punches have come their way.

FROM OUR HEARTS TO YOURS

But there is light at the end of the tunnel! Our local chefs and restaurants are triumphantly returning to the spotlight with a culinary celebration unlike any other. Introducing: Meat N’ Badaydas, a month-long showcase of classic PEI flavours in 66+ restaurants from tip to tip, featuring one-of-a-kind modern twists and traditional takes on the hearty meat & potatoes dish.

But what’s with the spelling, you ask?

You say Po-ta-to, I say Pa-day-dah. You say Ba-day-do, I say Ba-day-da. Get it? No matter how you say it, they’re friggin’ delicious.

Now it’s up to you, food lovers, to get out there and explore these classic ingredients in a whole new way!

What will it be? A Sunday night feast or a contemporary approach? Pulled pork poutine or a honey-ham & scallop potatoes? Only time will tell…
